A
to Z Chardonnay 2006.
"Aristocratic Wines at Democratic Prices" Greg Popovich's
winery.
Vivid gold with green highlights. Aromatics of pear, green apple,
quince, apple blossom, lime, tangerine, talc and wet stone minerality
evolve to include honey, butter, nutmeg and white chocolate. In
the mouth, the wine is gorgeous. The ripeness and richness of
the fruit are perfectly balanced by the beautiful acidity. Concentrated
and succulent with a long, clean finish. The unoaked 2006 A to
Z Oregon Chardonnay will drink wonderfully over the next two years. |
A
to Z Oregon Red Wine 2004
Saturated dark blood-red color from the rim to a near opaque
center. Strong complex initial aromas of cassis, pepper, slate,
iron, blackberries, cocoa, smoke, chocolate-covered dark cherries,
pencil shavings and tar. As the wine opens, aromas of game, cedar,
boysenberries, cookie dough, truffles, ripe plums and red currants
emerge. In the mouth, the attack mirrors the initial aromatics
with juicy, focused red and black
fruits. As the wine continues to move across the palate, ripe
tannins lend focus and balance to the lush and generous fruit.
The concentrated and succulent mid-palate gives shape and great
depth to the wine as it moves to the finish. Blue fruit
flavors combine with a striking minerality to push the finish
along forever. The final flavors end on a strong note of bittersweet
cocoa. |
 |
|
A
to Z Pinot Gris 2007
Beautiful yellow gold with flashes of emerald. Lovely aromatics
of citrus and tropical fruits (mango, papaya, kiwi), lychee, honeysuckle
and acacia flowers, nectarines and pineapple. A wine of great
power, richness and length balanced by ripe acidity and structure.
The finish rolls seamlessly off the mid-palate and lasts about
a year. Great by itself or paired with food, especially exotic
dishes, cheese and seafood. This classic Oregon Pinot Gris will
drink wonderfully for the next 2 years. |
